What Does ASB Actor showreel involve?

An ASB Showreel for child actors involves creating a professionally edited video that showcases a young actor's talent, skills, and versatility. We like to think of acting showreels as your personal business card to the industry, showcasing your unique acting talent.

Why Us?

Do you provide the supporting actor and the location?

Pre-production (The Script / Prep)

The shooting day

Post-production (editing, sound and colour grade)

The process typically includes:

1.    Initial Consultation: Understanding the child actor’s strengths, goals, and preferred acting styles. This helps tailor the showreel to their unique talents.

2.    Scene Selection: Choosing or writing custom scenes that highlight the child actor’s abilities, including emotional range, dialogue delivery, and any special skills like dancing or singing.

3.    On-set Filming: A professional production setup is provided, with guidance from the ASB team to ensure the child actor feels comfortable and performs at their best.

4.    Editing: ASB Showreels focuses on high-quality video production. The footage is edited to showcase the child actor's best moments, keeping the reel concise and engaging.

5.    Final Showreel: The final product is a polished video that can be shared with casting directors, agents, or included in acting profiles, helping the child secure roles by presenting their talents professionally.

The whole process is guided to provide support and direction, making sure the showreel stands out in a competitive industry.

Plus, it’s an exciting experience! You’ll get to step in front of the camera and work alongside industry professionals.

We offer personalized guidance, industry-standard filming and editing, and scenes tailored to showcase each child's unique talents. With expertise in what casting directors look for, we ensure every showreel highlights the best of the young actor's abilities, helping them stand out.

Where are you based?

We are based in Richmond, London (the exact address will be shared once your booking is confirmed).

Why do I need an initial consolation?

The initial consultation is an easy-going conversation with our creative team to ensure we understand exactly what you're looking for. This allows us to customize the showreel to align with your child's career goals and highlight their strengths.

What do I need for the consultation?

Just your brilliant self!

Do I need acting any experience?

No, none whatsoever.

At ASB, we want to be a part of YOUR journey. Whether you're a beginner or an established actor, we'll make sure you feel comfortable and secure, even if it’s a new environment for you.

How does booking dates work?

Booking 4 weeks in advance is ideal, but if you need a quicker turnaround and we have availability, we'll do our best to accommodate.

We offer a full refund for cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance. Cancellations made between 48 and 72 hours before the booking receive a 50% refund, while cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable due to administrative and preparation costs.

Can I rebook if something comes up?

Yes, we will always try to accommodate our clients’ needs, but please make any requests before the 72-hour period so we have the chance to potentially refill the slot.

Can my child do a showreel without another actor?

Yes, we can absolutely do that, but it would be considered a monologue. However, it's important for your child to act with another actor. When film and casting directors review a showreel, they also look at how an actor engages with others, including moments of silence or while listening. These interactions are incredibly valuable and showcase your child's presence and ability to perform well alongside other actors.

How does the script writing process work?

You will have access to a standard script scene for your showreel free of charge. If you prefer a bespoke script, our team of writers can tailor it to your needs for an additional £50. Once the script is written, you’ll have the opportunity to review it once and request any necessary changes.

Do I get rehearsal time?

During your allocated slot, you'll have a short rehearsal with the director before we start filming. If you need an additional rehearsal, extra fees will apply.

Rehearsal via Zoom is £50 per hour with a director present (recommended for anyone just starting out or who has never been in front of a camera).

In-person rehearsal is £100 per hour with a director present (this would be on the day, 1 hour before your showreel slot).

Is there tea or coffee on the day?

Yes, of course there will be tea, coffee, and a sweet treat available if you’d like to indulge before we start.

Will I have a scene partner?

Yes, we will provide a scene partner if needed.
However, if you bring a scene partner, they will get 50% off their showreel and you can split the costs.

Where will filming take place?

Filming will generally take place in our studio in Richmond. However, if the script requires a different place, we can arrange for it as needed. Please note that if very specific locations are needed, additional fees apply.

How long will we have for each scene?

We allocate 2 hours per each showreel scene.

How much can we film in one day?

Depending on the demands of each showreel, we can typically film 3 to 4 scenes in one day.

Alina, our Creative Director, will work with you to bring out your best performance in the scene.

Do we provide a make-up artist?

This will need to be done by you, but most of the times isn’t required. If the scene requires bruises or similar effects, we can arrange that for you. If a client prefers to have a makeup artist on set, additional fees will apply.

Do I need to bring costume?

Yes, our team will advise on which costume to bring once the script and scene have been discussed. If a very specific costume is needed, we will provide it.
